It appears to relieve the symptoms of depression and anxiety by increasing serotonin with minimal effect on many of the other chemicals in the brain. Thus, it is said to be an effective way of controlling symptoms but with few side effects. When side effects do strike they tend to be less harsh. Possible side effects that could occur are: constipation, decreased appetite, diarrhea, dizziness, decreased sex drive, diarrhea, dizziness, ejaculation disorder, and dry mouth.

On the other hand, Zoloft is approved to treat depression, social anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and premenstrual dysphonic disorder (PMDD) in adults over age 18. Also, it is also prescribed to children and adolescents aging 6-17 years with OCD. Its possible side effects are as follows: upset stomach, diarrhea, vomiting, dry mouth, constipation, gas or bloating, loss of appetite, and weight changes.

Both Lexapro and Zoloft are good quality drugs to prescribe. But apparently there are many areas to consider that people may differ from one another. One person’s case may differ in his severity, attack level, age bracket, and the like.

Take for example with the case of Zoloft, it is best recommended for individuals who already have panic attacks and for children with ages 6-17 years old. But to people who have very sensitive reactions to powerful drugs, Lexapro could be best prescribed. However, sometimes, we must never resolved things on our own especially when it comes to our mental & physical health problems.

Consulting a doctor is still the best thing to do. They are the right person to instruct us what drug could be best to take. Thus, the only thing a patient can do is to help his own self. Do not just rely on drugs, but also track the cause of such disorder. He must also examine the way he sees life and gradually master it to be able to eventually get out of it.
